I have lived in Faversham nearly all my life; I am married (25 years) and have four grown up children (with 5 grandchildren). I was a Parent Governor at Ospringe school between 2000 and 2004 when my children were young and received a Governor award in 2002. I live locally to Bysing Wood School and joined as a Local Authority Governor in 2011/12. I have worked with young people for more than 20 years and now run my own "not for profit" business called Creed Outdoor Learning Trust running outdoor adventurous and educational activities, training and development for schools and youth groups in the East Kent area. My business works closely with the local housing associations and is part of a consortium that was commissioned by Kent County Council to run youth provision in Faversham for young people with the main focus on 13-19 age range. Two care leavers between 16 and 21 live with my wife and I, whilst learning the skills they need in preparation for independent living.
