Over the last few years, sport and PE has taken an increasingly high profile role in our school life. Taking part in inter-school competitive sport allows our pupils to:

  • represent the school in the local community,
  • develop and apply their PE and sport skills,
  • develop good sportsmanship,
  • demonstrate our school values,
  • have a focus for being as fit as possible.

Mr Rees works in school as our Sports Coach. In this role he organises and supports our teams for representative sport opportunities.

Extra-curricular sport

Pupils at Bysing Wood Primary School are given the opportunity to take part in a wide range of extra-curricular sporting activities.

Opportunities include:

  • Lunchtime activities
  • Intra-school competitions
  • After-school clubs
  • Inter-school competitions
  • After-school league matches
  • Sports leadership
  • School-club links
Photos of our sports events and teams will be found on our gallery pages (linked below):

Sports Equipment Loan Store

We would like to take this opportunity to make local schools, sports clubs and youth/community groups aware of the sports equipment that is now available on loan from Bysing Wood Primary School.

This short-term loan facility is intended to help teachers, sports coaches and youth/community workers increase sports participation and create an awareness of healthy lifestyles through physical activities for general health promotion.

Pricing structure:

Schools, sports clubs and youth/community groups wishing to borrow sports equipment will be asked to:

  • Pay an annual fee covering the period from 1st April to 31st March of £50.00 – This fee will be adjusted on a pro-rata monthly basis
  • Cover the cost of renewing any lost or damaged sports equipment

If you are interested in borrowing any of the sports equipment listed on the attached inventory, please contact Jon Rees (Sports Coach) through the school office to discuss your requirements and set-up your ‘membership’.
