Hello and welcome to Fuji Class! 

Welcome to Year 2 in Fuji Class! We are looking forward to spending a fantastic year together learning and developing our skills! 

Please do come back and check our class page regularly for any notices and updates on our learning we've been doing in class! 

We are very lucky in Fuji Class to have amazing adults working with us to help us with our learning. 

Reading

Each child has got a reading book and reading record book. So that your child can make as much progress as possible it is extremely important that they are heard to read every night. Please make a note or comment in the reading record book to let us know your child is reading every day and sign and date this. The children will receive a sticker/ and a raffle ticket for every day that they read. At the end of term, the children the raffle tickets will be drawn to win a prize.– each child has got a reading book and reading record book. PE and PE Kit

PE lessons will take place on Friday afternoons. Children will change into their PE kit at school. Please ensure your child brings a suitable PE kit in a named bag.

PE kit should include:

• Plain white T-shirt
• Plain black or dark green shorts (for indoor PE and outdoor PE in warmer weather)
• Plain dark sweatshirt, jogging bottoms, leggings, or tracksuit (for outdoor PE in colder weather)
• Trainers (in addition to the shoes they wear to school)
• Hairband to tie up long hair
• Tape from home to cover earrings or jewellery if not removed

Curriculum Letters

We have been using some songs to help us learn how to skip count in 2s, 5s, 10s and 3s in our classroom. We really enjoy singing these songs together.

Term 2 - The Gunpowder Plot 

This term in Fuji Class, we have been learning about the story of Guy Fawkes and The Gunpowder Plot. We know that it took place in 1605 which is over 400 years ago! We also know that this is the reason to why we have bonfire night. 

This term in Fuji Class we will be learning about The Gunpowder Plot in English with a focus on writing a diary entry.

We will also be learning about:

• Speed stacking and Cross Country– Physical Education (PE)
• Online Safety – Computing
• Paint – Art Day
• Health and Well-Being - PSHE
• Take Notice: Colour Expression – Wellbeing
• Diary entry and a Recount – English
• Textiles - DT
• Reading and Maths lessons will take place daily
• GPS and RIC will take place three times a week

Any other notices for Term 2: 

• Scripts have been sent home with the children in preparation for our Nativity performance this year. Please can you ensure that you are helping your child learn any lines they need to know for our show. Thank you for your continued help and support. 

• Throughout term 2, Fuji Class will have Forest School on a Thursday afternoon. Please make sure you send your child in with appropriate kit for this. 

Term 1: Geography (Faversham) 

Welcome back to the start of a new school year! We are looking forward to doing some fantastic learning with you all this year! 

This term in Fuji Class we will be learning about Faversham in our Geography lessons. We have lots of exciting things planned to help us with our learning on this topic! 

This term Fuji Class will be learning about: Faversham as part of our Geography focus.
