Important Information
PE is on Monday and FRIDAY(children get changed in school). Please note the PE days have been adjusted slightly from terms 1 and 2. Please ensure PE kits are brought into school, earrings are either taken out or taped up (supplied from home), and long hair tied back.
Children need to read daily at home, please record this in your child's reading record. Children will get rewards for reading at home.
Phonics books need to be read at least 4 times a week, they will be changed on Fridays. Other reading books will be changed more regularly.
Forest School - Tuesday for the first three weeks only.

Maths Game - Coconut Multiples Can the children find all the multiples in the 2, 5 and 10 times tables in this game? Use your skip counting skills (counting in 2s, 5s and 10s) to help you find the answers.
Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS)This is the direct link where children can log in to their TTRS account and practice their times tables. We have been learning the 2, 5 and 10 times tables this term!

Forest School
We have had lots of fun in Forest School with Mr Rees the last two weeks! We've been exploring our environment, jumping in muddle puddles and lots more! We can't wait to go back to Forest School!
Maths - How many ways can we make £1?
DT - We learnt how to thread a needle and sew a running stitch to make pouches!
PE
In PE, we had a special lesson where we were able to explore the technical sport of Curling. We had great fun exploring how to use the Curling stones and seeing how far we can get on the mat!
Computing - we learnt how to type using word processing!
Science - Can materials change shape?

Maths - Counting the number of sides on a 2D shape
Maths Learning (Week 1 and 2)
We have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes. We have been learning about all the features of 2D shapes. Ask us about the properties of 2D shapes. Ask us whether the shape is a polygon or not.
We have also been exploring 3D shapes and naming them. We will be looking in more detail at 3D shapes soon! What 3D shapes can you find at home? Can you make a list of all the 3D shapes you can find at home? We like being able to apply our maths to the real world!

Rail Safety
On the last week of term, we looked at rail safety and what it means to be safe at the train station, on the platform and around level crossings! We are could explain how to be safe and what the potential dangers could be. We learnt what to do if something is wrong or a potential danger. We are superstars at being rail safe!
During PE, we practiced our speed stacking skills. We were amazing at it!

We began exploring our new topic today! We learnt a new song to help us learn about the Gunpowder Plot! We really liked how the lyrics repeated lots! It helped us to learn some of the lyrics.

National Poetry Day 2023
On Thursday 5th October 2023, it is National Poetry Day. We will be celebrating this in class by exploring and practicing performance skills. We will be looking at the poem called My Treasures by Kate Wakeling. I have attached a copy of the poem below for you to look at at home and practice reciting some of the poetry to support with our performance skills. We are very excited to be exploring the poem further and investigate the features of this poem.
